To do this correctly a second cable would have to be run back to the point where the spur is taken from the ring , and the ring broken with each side connecting to one side of the new wiring. A spur socket is where an existing radial circuit or ring main is tapped into with new wires via a junction box or socket and a feed is taken to supply a new socket in a new location.
